The FreshWater 'Platinum' replacement water filter cartridge employs an extremely effective combination of microporous ceramic and carbon block in its construction.  The ceramic outer section will effectively remove particles below 1 micron in size, including sediment, harmful bacteria, parasites and cysts. The carbon block inner section is effective against chemical contaminants, including chlorine, organic pollutants such as agricultural pesticides, herbicides and oestrogens.
