Water Softeners

If you live in a hard water area, why not consider a water softener? Over 50% of British homes are in hard water areas. And, whilst hard water makes for healthy drinking water, it's not such good news for appliances.
Calcium and magnesium in water cause scale to form in your kettle and fur up elements in appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines, electric showers and boilers. Over time, the build-up of scale reduces efficiency and just 1.6mm of scale can reduce appliance efficiency by 12% - adding hundreds of pounds to utility bills. Limescale deposits also ruin the look of taps, brassware and showers - and can also present itself in the form on an unpleasant 'film' on the surface of hot drinks.
Many people with sensitive skin also find they prefer soft water; soaps, shampoos and detergents can all be reduced because soft water lathers better than hard water.
FreshWater's water softeners use a special resin that removes the calcium and magnesium deposits that cause scale. The resin is regenerated when the softener flushes it with salt, which does not enter the water.
