'Using RO-treated water to make coffee, means you can use 30% less coffee (the same applies to other concentrated drinks, like cordials) and still achieve the same taste/strength.

MRO30K- Reverse Osmosis Water Filter

What exactly is Reverse Osmosis?

Reverse Osmosis is the method of purifying liquid by pushing it through a semi-permeable membrane.Osmosis is the process by which water and nutrients are supplied to living cells. The natural flow of water is from a dilute to a concentrated solution across a cell wall. Cell walls are natural, selective semi-permeable membranes, which allow certain materials to pass through but reject others. In a reverse osmosis system, pressure is utilised to reverse the natural flow through a synthetic membrane so that pure water molecules pass through and impurities are flushed away.

What will Reverse Osmosis remove?

Using R.O. membrane technology, it is possible to remove all suspended solids, up to 98% of dissolved solids and virtually all bacteria, pesticides and viruses.

Sounds good. what are the benefits?

R.O. filtration will:
. Improve the taste, odour and appearance of water.
. Provide an unlimited supply of pure water for less than 3p a litre.
. Allow you to use 30% less coffee to get the taste you love.
. Get rid of limescale.
. Make fruit squashes taste fresher and tastier.
. Improve the taste and texture of cooked vegetables, soups and sauces.

How does an R.O. Unit work?

The membrane module is at the heart of an R.O. system. The unit also incorporates an activated carbon pre-filter to prepare the water, and a post-filter to "polish" it. R.O. filtration is slow so it is necessary for the process to continue all day, with treated water being stored in a tank. A separate tap is linked to this tap to provide a flow of pure, R.O. filtered water when desired.

I'm interested. can I have an R.O. system in my home?

An in-home R.O. system can be installed under most kitchen sinks. The minimum pressure required is 2.7 bar (40psi). Small R.O. pumps are available to provide the correct incoming pressure if needed.

Great. How do I get my RO30?
