FreshWater MS5K Glacier

The MS5K Whole House Filter has six filter cartridges - a pre-filter and five carbon block or ceramic cartridges.  Together, these remove sediment, chlorine and chemicals.  Freshwater's stainless steel 'Glacier' Whole House Filters are designed to be plumbed into where the mains supply of water comes into your house and have the added benefit of a higher flow rate.  Depending upon your own water quality concerns, they also offer a flexible range of filter cartridge options. 

Freshwater's MS5K unit is one of our smaller Whole House Filter.  Ideal for a 1-2 person household, we recommend that for optimum results, an undersink  or point of use filter, such as Freshwater's FWF1000 is also used.

• Whole House Filters are fitted onto the mains water supply so that every source of water in your house is filtered
• 1 Micron pre-filter removes turbidity, sediment, dust, rust and dirt - prolonging the life of the unit's other filter cartridges
• Choose between carbon block or ceramic filter cartridges, depending upon your water quality concerns.
• Pre-filters should be changed every six months
• Carbon block or ceramic cartridges should be changed every year
• Additional 'bypass' filters for specialist contaminant removal e.g. heavy metals also available

Filter Cartridge Options

Select from Freshwater's Topaz carbon block, Jade silverised ceramic or Platinum carbon and ceramic filter cartridges.

• Topaz cartridges are recommended for use when chemical, rather than bacterial contamination is a concern.  Topaz cartridges will remove chlorine, trihalomethane, pesticides, herbicides, PAHs (polyaromatic hydrocarbons - oil based chemicals, dry cleaning solvents, tetrahydrochloride), phenols, parasites and many other chemicals in both particle and dissolved forms.
• Jade cartridges are recommended for use when bacterial, rather than chemical contamination is a concern - for example for the filtration of water from a borehole supply.
• Platinum cartridges are recommended for when both chemical and bacterial contamination of water is a problem
