What about Pre-Filters?

Pre-Filter cartridges are typically employed as the first stage of filtration in twin cartridge water filtration systems.  Pre-filters are designed to extend the life of the finer second stage ceramic or carbon block water filter cartridge by filtering out coarser contaminants such as sand and dirt.  We offer a range of pre-filter cartridges designed to fit FreshWater and other leading brands of twin housing water filter systems.

Tell me More about Carbon Block...

Carbon is used universally in water treatment applications to reduce chemicals, including chlorine, and to improve the taste and odour of drinking water.  Traditionaly activated carbon has been used in the form of loose granules. Now, due to significant advances in water filtration technology, carbon is available molded or extruded in the form of a micro-porous block. Carbon block water filter cartridges, in their most sophisticated forms, are formulated to be effective against a wide range of contaminants including chlorine, lead, parasites and cysts such as cryptosporidium and giardia.  The improved molecular structure of carbon block greatly increases its chemical reduction performance up to 20 times that of a Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) cartridge of similar volume.

What does my Cartridge's Code Mean?

Make sense of cartridge codes with FreshWater's quick guide.  The first letter(s) of a code e.g. N-25-SM indicates what the cartridge's specialist function is.  The length of a cartridge is denoted by the number between the hyphens in a code e.g. N-25-SM.  The last letter(s) of a cartridge's code indicates its mount type, e.g. N-25-SM.
